Sentier Psychotherapy is a single location, small group counseling agency in St. Paul, Minnesota that is committed to strengthening kids, teens, young adults, couples, families, and communities through counseling, classes, integrative health services, and community events. We believe:

We are a private pay/sliding scale clinic with a focus on high quality client care and therapist work/life balance. We are a fun group of of clinicians who enjoy our small/mid-size team. We would like to add a clinician to see primarily adults and possibly couples.

Job Duties

  • Part-time clinician maintains a caseload between 10-14 clients per week.
  • Full-time clinician maintains a caseload of 15+ client sessions per week.
  • Complete timely diagnostic assessment, treatment plan, and session case notes for every client in electronic health record system.
  • Complete ongoing documentation including updated diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and case notes according to company policy.
  • Communicate via email/phone with potential clients prior to beginning therapy
  • Provide trauma-informed/trauma-trained therapy services to adults (18+). Currently online because of Covid restrictions.
  • Provide family therapy (not required for this position, but a plus)
  • Develop curriculum and provide group counseling and therapy (not required)
  • Provide couples counseling (not required, but strongly preferred)
  • Coordinate care with other professionals
  • Write 3-4 entries for the Sentier blog per year
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned, including: maintaining online appointment calendar, entering client payments in online billing system, responding in a timely manner to phone calls, emails, and electronic health record training.
  • Undertake all client contact within the confines of the legal and ethical practices of the State of Minnesota, as guided by appropriate licensing board.
  • Attend and participate in all clinical consultation, staff meetings, and staff trainings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate trauma training (EMDR, ART, AIR, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, etc).
  • Motivated, self-starter who can remain prompt and punctual when navigating multiple online systems.
  • Master’s degree from accredited college or university.
  • Provisional or clinical license in the State of Minnesota. Sentier will pay for supervision for pre-clinical licensure candidates.
  • Participate in continuing education according to your licensure requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Desire to engage in professional networking and membership groups.
  • Progressive, creative mindset. Ideal candidate is comfortable and proficient when working independently.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

  • Therapists at Sentier make their own schedules. This therapist will, too! It is essential to have availability during evening and weekend hours (60% of session openings after 3pm or on weekend days). One weekend day (minimum 4 hours) required per month.
  • Technical proficiency with EHRs, client portal, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, wellness apps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fully licensed in the state of Minnesota
  • Post-graduate couples training (EFT, Gottman, etc) strongly preferred.
  • Interest or willingness to pursue advanced training/certification in EFT.
  • Minimum typing speed of roughly 40 words per minute

Child Therapist

Sentier built a state of the art playroom for our Child Therapists and clients under the age of 11 in 2019. We currently have a caseload of children awaiting our new Child Therapist (to begin February, 2021).

Job Description:

Our ideal Child Therapist will:

  • Provide assessment and counseling services to youth under the age of 17 (and their guardians)

  • Provide child therapy services to children under the age of 11 (and their guardians). Will consider therapist not trained in DC 0-5.

  • Provide family therapy (not required for this position, but a plus)

  • Provide parent guidance

  • Provide therapy for adolescents/teens (not required))

  • Complete diagnostic assessments

  • Develop, implement, and update treatment plans

  • Maintain updated case notes in electronic health record system

  • Develop curriculum and provide group counseling and therapy (not required)

  • Coordinate care with school and medical professionals

  • Write three entries for the Sentier blog per year


Requirements for position:

  • Must have Master’s degree or higher
  • Have RPT credential, be in-process of obtaining, or have minimum five years of professional experience with children
  • Must be trained to utilize play therapy space
  • Available to work one Saturday per month (four hours)
