Full Time Child Therapist

Clinic Description:
Sentier Psychotherapy is a growing, community-based mental health and wellness organization that provides counseling services to adolescents, college students, families, and adults. Sentier offers individual, family, and group counseling and therapy, as well as seminars and classes. We pride ourselves on providing collaborative and comprehensive care to each of our clients. We are expanding our practice to include services for couples.

Job Duties:

  • Provide assessment and counseling services to youth under the age of 17 (and their guardians)

  • Provide play therapy services to children under the age of 11 (and their guardians)

  • Provide assessment and counseling to adults, ages 18+ (if preferred by therapist)

  • Provide family therapy (not required for this position, but a plus)

  • Complete diagnostic assessments

  • Develop, implement, and update treatment plans

  • Maintain updated case notes in electronic health record system

  • Develop curriculum and provide group counseling and therapy (not required)

  • Coordinate care with school and medical professionals

  • Write entries for the Sentier blog

 

Type of Position:

  • Eventual Full-time caseload (15-25 client sessions per week)

  • W2 position; not accepting applications for contractors at this time

  • A minimum of 50% of sessions must be after 2:00 pm and/or on weekends

  • Full-time caseload will not be available on date of hire, part-time caseload likely right away


Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from accredited university

  • Eligible for clinical license in state of Minnesota

  • Strong written and verbal skills

  • Desire to work with children under the age of eleven

  • Progressive, creative mindset, motivated, and ability to be a self-starter. Play therapy services will be brand new at Sentier. Ideal candidate is comfortable working independently.

  • Technical proficiency with EHRs, client portal, Google Drive, Microsoft Office Suite, wellness apps


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fully licensed in state of Minnesota

  • Interest or willingness to pursue advanced training/certification

  • Minimum typing speed of roughly 40 words per minute

Full Time Couples Counselor

Position Description:

The Couples Counselor will provide psychotherapy to couples and potentially families. Clinical work focuses on the reduction of symptoms of relationship dissatisfaction, acute relational crises, sexual issues, and interpersonal issues and family dynamics. This exciting new position has the capacity to become full-time as the therapist grows their caseload over time.

Type of Position:

  • Eventual Full-time caseload (15-25 client sessions per week)
  • W2 position; not accepting applications for contractors at this time
  • Sixty percent of sessions must be after 2:00 pm and/or on weekends until caseload is full. Can revise over time.
  • Full-time caseload will not be available on date of hire, part-time caseload likely right away

 

Job Duties:

  • Complete orientation and training weekly with supervisor to familiarize self with Sentier policy and procedures. This will end as soon as Therapist is familiar with Sentier policies and systems.
  • Communicate via email/phone with potential clients prior to beginning therapy
  • Provide meet and greet consultations, diagnostic assessments, and counseling services to couples
  • Develop, implement, and update treatment plans
  • Provide crisis and supportive phone counseling, assessment, and referral as needed.
  • Provide family therapy (not required for this position, but a plus)
  • Maintain accurate and timely client files in electronic health record system
  • Develop curriculum and provide group counseling and therapy (not required)
  • Coordinate care with other professionals
  • Write 3-4 entries for the Sentier blog per year
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned, which may include: maintaining online appointment calendar, entering client payments in online billing system, responding in a timely manner to phone calls, emails, and appointment requests, and electronic health record training.
  • Participate in continuing education according to your licensure requirements. The person in this position will be the only dedicated couples counselor at Sentier, so ongoing consultation and training support will be essential.
  • Undertake all client contact within the confines of the legal and ethical practices of the State of Minnesota, as guided by appropriate licensing board.
  • Attend and participate in one monthly 2-hour consultation meeting with the clinical team at Sentier.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be motivated, self-starters who are excited to develop a new position in a thriving and creative small group practice.
  • Master’s degree from accredited university
  • Therapist must have achieved a provisional license (LAMFT, LPC, LGSW, etc.) in the State of Minnesota. Sentier will pay for supervision for pre-clinical licensure candidates.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Desire to work with couples
  • Desire to engage in professional networking and membership groups
  • Progressive, creative mindset. Couples counseling services will be brand new at Sentier. Ideal candidate is comfortable working independently.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an understanding of Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques.
  • Meet with EFT supervisor if not Supervisor level/Level Three of EFT certification.

  • The couples counselor will propose their own schedule. It is essential to have availability during evening and weekend hours (60% of session openings after 3pm or on weekend days). One weekend day (minimum 4 hours) required per month.

  • Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy training
  • Interest or willingness to pursue advanced training/certification in EFT;
