Young Adult LGBTQ Support Group

Who: Young adults, ages 18-25, who identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, genderqueer, non-binary, pansexual, and other identities along the spectrums of gender identity and sexual orientation).

What: A group for LGBTQ identified and questioning folks. Group members will have a safe space to explore their identities, create community, and just be themselves. Group topics are: gender and sexuality, healthy relationships, coming out, identity in the workplace, and other topics that group decides upon.

When: This group is currently suspended.

Group is 10 weeks in length. At the end of the 10 week group, members have the option to be done with the group or register for another 10 weeks. Ongoing enrollment can continue on an open-ended basis, so long as therapist and client agree to continued enrollment.

Where: Sentier Psychotherapy, centrally located in Highland Park, St. Paul

Why: To build community and decrease stigma. LGBTQ individuals are at increased risk of mental health issues, substance abuse and addiction, and certain types of trauma. There is often limited access to adequate mental health care and supportive services. This group aims to provide the support that is often lacking for young people in the LGBTQ community.

Fees: Group is $40 per session; sliding fee is also available. Please inquire with Ashley in email or during Intake session. Receipts are provided for all clients and are particularly helpful for those who would like to submit to HSA, flex accounts, or insurance providers for out-of-network reimbursement. Therapist may be able to submit out of network insurance claims if requested following payment.
