wellness for families
I believe that two of the greatest human needs are to be seen and to be known. Unfortunately, there are many things that keep us hidden. One cannot be truly seen without vulnerability and authenticity. I view therapy as a place individuals get to build and practice those skills. I strive to honor the courageous decision to begin the journey by creating an open, non-judgmental, compassionate, and safe space.
Those who know me would say I am kind, compassionate, and easy to connect with. I am passionate about working with teens and their families. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process led by the clients’ comfort level. Although, I have been known to ask the hard questions! It has been a gift to work with many individuals ranging in age, race, socio-economic status, gender, and sexual orientation.
Iowa born and raised, I moved to the Twin Cities to attend undergraduate school. I fell in love with the cities from the first time I laid eyes on the lights of Minneapolis. After getting married in 2003, my partner and I moved to Colorado. After almost 9 years in Denver, we moved back to the Twin Cities. Although I miss the mountains, I am obsessed with the gorgeous surroundings of Minnesota. Oh how I missed the water!
I am passionate about my family and our friend community! I am a proud mama of a very spirited toddler! We are outdoors as much as possible. I love to read, listen to podcasts, and probably like Netflix way too much! If I could have one drink (besides water, of course) for the rest of my life, it would be coffee. Cooking and baking are very therapeutic for me!
