wellness for families

If I were to describe therapy with me in a few words, I would use non-judgmental, collaborative, and encouraging. When people share their experiences in therapy, my goal is to be supportive, validating, and real. It is very normal for people to come into therapy focusing on the struggles that demand a lot of their attention. I give my clients space to explore challenges while using a strengths-based approach that helps people make positive change in their lives. When clients have an environment that is non-shaming, empowering, and uplifting, their lives begin to shift for the better.
I especially enjoy working with teens, college students, and people in early adulthood - rich times of life that are all about figuring out who you are. Helping young people in the process of becoming more themselves is my life’s work. Strengthening the relationship between parents and adolescents is also work I enjoy. Helping parents understand their teen’s experience can completely transform teen/parent relationships.
Aside from traditional talk therapy, sessions with me might include writing exercises, art activities, games, meditation, or taking walks. I adjust sessions to accommodate individual client preferences, goals, and needs. One of my specialty areas is teaching skills related to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in individual and group settings, which can have a significant effect on client’s functioning and well-being. I also specialize in disordered eating and eating disorders.
When I’m not working at Sentier, I am volunteering at the Walk-In Counseling Center, doing Zumba, practicing yoga, going for walks, or baking. I also love going out for brunch or ice cream.
